Colours, personality and creative details are at the heart of Trine Kjær’s universe.
In collaboration with the design house aida and the colourful Confetti collection from LIFE IN COLOUR, she invites us into a world where table settings become a form of expression filled with memories, vintage treasures and atmosphere.
Here, it is not about perfection, but about creating harmony through the little things.
Table styling with presence and character
For Trine Kjær, the table becomes a place where colours, materials and expressions unite in playful harmony. The Confetti collection is a central element, and with its nine pieces in all 11 colours, it creates the framework for a personal and flexible expression. Trine mixes Confetti with everything she loves: a vintage lace tablecloth from a flea market, a handful of wildflowers placed in small antique glass vases, or an inherited steel tray filled with homemade treats. Everything has its place and comes together in a cohesive expression.
“I love colours, and I love setting the table with them. It adds a special energy to the table, and the children love it. I like to think that the food tastes better when it is served on something beautiful and colourful.”
Trine Kjaer

It's the little details that makes the difference
It is precisely the small details that give the table setting its soul. For Trine, it might be a satin ribbon tied around a water glass, a bow carved from a courgette, or a single branch from the garden placed casually across the plate. These little touches create layers and atmosphere, making the table feel alive and personal. Nothing is random, yet everything feels relaxed. The overall impression is carefully considered through playful details. The versatile colours of the Confetti collection provide the freedom to create different moods. A breakfast table with Apricot, Candyfloss and Lemon has a soft and calm expression. For dinner, contrasts can be created with Aqua, Chili and Blueberry. The combinations are endless, and the collection can be mixed with vintage finds, everyday objects and unique pieces.

A style reflecting the past and embracing the modern
Trine’s love for table settings began already in childhood, when she was fascinated by her grandmother’s collection of ceramics. Today, that inspiration lives on in her own approach, where old and new pieces are combined with an eye for detail and aesthetics. A candlestick found at a flea market is given new life next to modern glassware and colourful plates. Everything is welcome to carry patina and history. And everything is welcome to be mixed, so the table becomes unique every time.
Table styling as a personal expression
Behind the collection stands aida, a family-run company with strong traditions in Danish design. The collaboration with Trine Kjaer helps show how Confetti fits naturally into homes where personality, atmosphere and small details take centre stage.
