About aida

aida is an experienced Danish design house that creates stoneware, porcelain, glass, cutlery and kitchenware for modern tableware and living. The company was founded over 60 years ago and is behind a wide range of popular dinnerware and designs, including Poul Pava and Denmark's absolute best-selling tableware, Atelier, which was launched back in 1984 and is still on the market. aida follows current trends without compromising its own values such as quality, good craftsmanship, functionality and value for money.

The stoneware line RAW, designed in collaboration with Christiane Schaumburg-Müller, is one of aida's most popular series. RAW has its roots in the old stoneware factory Søholm on Bornholm, whose large archives and know-how aida acquired in 1996 - and Søholm's valuable knowledge of the good old craftsmanship will leave its mark on several of aida's tableware and designs in the future.

Most recently, aida has created LIFE IN COLOUR, which was designed in collaboration with the renowned industrial designer Karim Rashid. The collection aims to bring more colour to life and everyday experiences. LIFE IN COLOUR consists of four series: Confetti, Karim Rashid, Art and Lido.

The Confetti collection is colourful tableware in white porcelain. It includes a variety of elements such as plates, mugs, serving pieces, cutlery, placemats and to-go bottles - all in beautiful colours, which are made to be mixed. Confetti is brought to life by our Confetti partner, the creative stylist and influencer, Trine Kjær.

The Karim Rashid series features colourful coasters and placemats in 95% recycled leather, where the Art series includes elegant borosilicate glasses with a thin, coloured line. In contrast the Lido series presents feminine designs in stainless steel with a fine small coloured edge.

All four series are part of the LIFE IN COLOUR concept, which focuses on colour as a functional and visual element in everyday tableware.

Based near the water outside Aarhus in Denmark, aida has currently a team of around 30 employees.
