Trine Kjaer is a stylist, creative consultant and influencer, and she helps bring the Confetti collection from the beautiful and colourful LIFE IN COLOUR universe to life.
With a sharp eye for interiors, table settings and styling, Trine Kjaer manages to inspire her more than 170,000 followers on Instagram – and now her inspiration has reached all the way to South Korea. Vogue Korea visited Trine Kjaer in her home for a feature in their #MyWorld series.
Trine Kjaer has always been passionate about colours and table settings. Her love of colours partly stems from her childhood, where her grandmother was an avid collector of ceramics. She spent hours admiring her grandmother’s cabinets filled with beautiful pieces. So it came as no surprise that Trine Kjaer was the perfect match when the design house aida launched LIFE IN COLOUR back in November.
“It has been one of my biggest dreams for years to start working with table settings, and now it has come true. I am so happy and proud to be working with the family-run and tradition-rich company aida.”
As Trine explained when the collaboration began.
Vogue Korea has been given a full tour of Trine Kjaer’s beautiful home, which she shares with her husband and three children. The home reflects Trine Kjaer’s aesthetic sense and love of detail, as she explains to Vogue Korea: “If I have to choose my favourite place, it is without a doubt the kitchen. The kitchen was the first room we started renovating after moving into our home. During the process, I made sure that even the smallest details reflected my personal taste.”
With the kitchen as her favourite room and table styling as her favourite hobby, it is not only for aida LIFE IN COLOUR that Trine Kjaer loves styling and colour. It is deeply rooted within her.
Trine Kjaer finds inspiration in many places, but Italy in particular has a great influence on her interior style. Italy’s historic buildings, their colours and choice of materials all play a role. She tells Vogue Korea: “The styling [in the kitchen] was inspired by director Luca Guadagnino’s film Call Me by Your Name, which was shot in a beautiful old Italian house.” She adds: “I especially liked the kitchen countertop, which was made of marble from Carrara, Tuscany, Italy, and the colour combination of off-white and red.”
Colours and combinations are, of course, a central part of the LIFE IN COLOUR universe – and yet another reason why Trine Kjær was the perfect partner for the Confetti collection by aida.
